The camp is also supported by the tireless efforts of many volunteers and seasonal staff, who serve the camp is various positions-in the kitchen, as maintenance workers, as cabin leaders-just to name a few. Both Duane and Sylvia served as cabin leaders for a number of years before joining the camp leadership team. Duane is the site manager while Sylvia serves as the camp's registrar. Throughout the year, the camp is also a retreat and conference center and hosts a variety of different retreats and rental groups. Approximately 1,000 campers between the ages of 7 and 18 have the opportunity to receive Biblical teaching in an encouraging and nuturing environment. Our camp, which operates under CSSM Ministries, is accredited by both the Manitoba Camping Association and Christian Camping International - Canada.ĭuring the summer months the camp is a busy place. The hardest part is really just having to be in tune with every camper and knowing who they are and how the respond to things, last thing we want is for a camper to be left out. The summer camp program is the camps main emphasis and the resource by which we carry out our mission and our vision. The culture the camp bring is nothing like working any where else, you are basically family with everyone in a matter of days, this spreads not only to the staff but also the campers. Roseau River Bible Camp is a great place for children and teens to build friendships, explore their faith and experience the great outdoors. The people running the camp are honest people making sure that you are kept in check and that your wellness is at its best. You really learn to be patient, people skills, how to understand and be a mentor to younger children, etc. Then through the days you go to chapel, bible lessons/ cabin devotions, skills, meals, and wide game, until snack then bed time. At Roseau River Bible Camp, you would first wake up around 5:30-6:30 to get yourself ready for the day before staff meeting which starts around 6:50-7:00 (depending on the week).
